 OUR OBJECTIVES:

  • Influence government regulations for efficient, competitive, and sustainable freight

  • Provide guidance to VTA members on freight

  • Oversee VTA sub-groups for general freight and industry

  • Offer feedback to the VTA Secretariat for effective representation.

GENERAL FREIGHT COMMITTEE:

Focused on enhancing landside productivity for port-related activities.

WHARF CARRIERS COMMITTEE:

Focused on enhancing landside productivity for port-related activities.

LONG DISTANCE COMMITTEE:

Addresses recruitment, licensing, distraction, compliance, and Safety Management Systems (SMS) in line-haul operations.

PEOPLE GROUP:

Promotes workplace health, wellbeing, positive cultures, and skilled workforce development.

EARTHMOVERS COMMITTEE:

Addresses challenges in infrastructure projects, legislation, vehicle shortages, compliance, and environmental impact.

OVERSIZE/OVERMASS  COMMITTEE:

Manages access and permits for road networks, focusing on oversized and overweight loads.

TECHNOLOGY GROUP:

Improving business processes through research and effective technology implementation.

VTA Committees

The VTA manages and administers a broad range of Committees and Groups that help guide the work we do for members. There are more than 40 transport and freight sectors and all have different challenges that we address on their behalf. Members are encouraged to actively participate in these Committees and Groups that are relevant to their specific sector to ensure their issues are being addressed.
