Chain of Responsibility – Safe Loads 2019 Courses
Description
Under the National Heavy Vehicle Law, Safe Loads are not just the responsibility of the Driver.
Do you realise that you, as well as your company, could be held legally liable for breaches of “On Road” safety.
“Extended Liability” could mean that many roles (people) in your company may be deemed to have committed the same “on road” safety breach.
Safe Loads is one of a series of VTA Academy workshops on Chain of Responsibility (CoR). This workshop is designed to create awareness of the fundamentals of what goes into making loads safe. It deals with all the various
components that come together to ensure on road safety, and supports the important role of the driver in dealing with the complexities of loading / unloading and transporting freight.
What the Safe Loads workshop will cover
• How to make a load safe – what to look for
• Loading Guidelines
• Restraints, Equipment & Infrastructure
• Vehicle Mass, Dimensions and Load Balance
• Vehicle Weighing
• Container Weight and Dangerous Goods Declarations
