Safety continues to be a prime concern for the VTA and the industry. All sectors of the industry are working hard to develop new safety initiatives and are proactively spreading this message.
The VTA has worked with industry to develop a number of initiatives to improve safety. Through working groups, committees, collaborative partnership, boards, panel and lobbying the VTA produces safety results.
The VTA Safety Initiatives are detailed on this website and regular updates are provided through media releases and in the bio-monthly publication ‘Priority Report’. For further information on any of these initiatives or products please contact us.

The TISG aims to learn and develop lessons that come from coronial enquiries. Meetings are held every 6-8 weeks representing a unique working relationship within one of the only such groups in Australia.
It is made up of senior representatives from WorkSafe, the Transport Workers Union, the Victorian Transport Association, VicRoads, Victoria Police, the Transport Accident Commission, Bus Association Victoria, the Victorian Waste Management Association and the Australian Road Research Board Group, with the Coroner present as an observer.
